Position Overview: The Adjunct Faculty member supervises students in clinical settings. Courses may be taught in an array of teaching modalities: MDC In-Person, MDC Live (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online (online delivery) and Blended Classes.
Responsibilities- Prepares course schedule
- Evaluates and advises students
- Prepares exams
- Prepares syllabus
- Monitors class roster
- Maintains schedule that allows for student meetings
- Schedules laboratory sessions for skills component of course
- Teaches in lecture and laboratory settings; blended and virtual environments
- Disseminates information and recruits students for service-learning initiatives
- Assesses student performance in the clinical setting
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in field; and Certificate in Dental Assisting with Expanded Function (EFDA) from an American Dental Association (ADA) Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited program at a regionally accredited institution; and Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certificate from the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB); and three (3) years of full-time work and/or instructional experience as a Certified Dental Assistant
- All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
- Possess excellent and effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community
- Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evening and weekend assignments
- Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
