Miami Dade College, through the Florida Charter Institute, is seeking a highly skilled Student Information Systems (SIS) Data Manager to lead the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of student data for K-12 charter schools authorized by colleges across Florida. This is a mission‑critical role for a data professional who thrives at the intersection of education, compliance, analytics, and systems leadership. You will serve as the primary liaison between FCI‑authorized schools, SIS vendors, and the Florida Department of Education, ensuring all state reporting is accurate, timely, and funding‑ready.
WhatYou’ll Be Doing
- Oversee the accuracy and integrity of student records across all FCI‑authorized schools using FOCUS School Software.
- Manage and coordinate all FLDOE state reporting requirements, including FTE Surveys 1–5, accountability reports, and Date Certain submissions.
- Run state validation processes, identify data errors, and ensure timely corrections.
- Serve as the primary SIS liaison between FCI, authorized schools, SIS vendors, and FLDOE.
- Ensure full compliance with FERPA, FEFP, and state/federal reporting standards.
- Configure SIS environments, manage user roles, and maintain system security.
- Coordinate data uploads, transfers, and integrations between SIS and state systems.
- Analyze enrollment, attendance, scheduling, and demographic data to support decision‑making.
- Generate and validate reports for leadership, auditors, and state agencies.
- Provide schools with funding‑impact analyses (enrollment, recalibration, missing data).
- Develop and maintain SIS documentation, guidelines, and training resources.
- Deliver training and technical assistance to school‑based staff statewide (remote and in‑person).
- Participate in system improvement initiatives, committees, and professional learning opportunities (FOCUS Users Conference, FAMIS, etc.).
- Master’s degree in Information Systems, Education, Data Management, or related field and three (3) years of SIS/student data management experience OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field and seven (7) years of SIS/student data management experience.
- Advanced proficiency in FOCUS SIS.
- Strong understanding of FLDOE reporting systems and timelines.
- Knowledge of FEFP funding and FTE reporting methodologies.
- Familiarity with K‑12 curriculum structures affecting funding and reporting, including course codes and master scheduling, graduation requirements, and ESE, ELL, reading intervention, CTE, and dual enrollment reporting.
- Experience working in large, complex organizations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to train and support staff remotely via phone and video conferencing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Ability to present data and findings to leadership and senior stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel across Miami Dade College campuses and occasionally throughout Florida.
