Position Overview
This adjunct faculty member teaches courses in the area of Criminal Justice within the College's School of Justice program.
Courses may be taught in an array of teaching modalities: MDC In-Person, MDC Live (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online (online delivery) and Blended Classes.
What you will be doing
* Provides classroom instruction
* Participates in curriculum development and revision
* Assesses the curriculum against state and national standards
* Supervises field experiences and/or internships
* Serves as a resource for faculty members and other program areas
* Serves on school, campus and College committees
* Recruits and advises Criminal Justice students
* Participates in grant writing and acquisition of external funding for the School of Justice
* Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
* Master's degree in Criminal Justice from a regionally accredited institution or a Master's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution and 18 graduate credit hours in Criminal Justice
* Three (3) years experience in college or university teaching preferred
* Must possess current knowledge of curriculum and methodology issues in Public Safety and Criminal Justice
* Qualified applicants must demonstrate positive human relations and communication skills
* Must be willing to work on multiple campuses/outreach locations
Preferences
* Ability to teach early day classes (8:00am-1:00pm) preferred
