Position Overview

The Part-Time Student Support Specialist assists with tasks associated with the delivery of services to students enrolled in Adult Education programs.

What you will be doing

* Provides students with admission and registration information

* Screens and follows up on student related problems for appropriate referral and problem resolution

* Assists GED and ESOL students seeking financial aid

* Provides students with updates on their placement status, classes, schedule and fees

* Participates in recruitment activities and workshops

* Performs other duties as assigned

What you need to succeed

* High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalent from an accredited institution and two (2) years of related experience

* All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution

* Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals, and objectives, policies and procedures

* Possess good customer service skills

* Knowledge of class offerings and all departments within Continuing Education and Professional Development department

* Possess superior ability to learn program details

* Ability to follow oral and written instructions

* Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills

* Ability to project a positive image of the College and its programs

* Ability to work effectively with students, faculty and staff

Additional Requirements

The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
