Job Summary
The Center for Children and Families (CCF) at Florida International University announces summer positions for PreK-12 regular and special education teachers, with a preference for individuals holding a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education/Special Education, Psychology/Mental Health, or related fields. Applicants must have field experience working with children in school, after-school, or summer settings. These positions support the 2026 Summer Reading Explorers program funded by The Children’s Trust, which provides evidence‑based small‑group literacy instruction to rising kindergarten, first grade, and second grade students throughout Miami‑Dade County.

Program Supervisor
Program Supervisors, preferably Certified Teachers or advanced trainees in School/Clinical/Educational Psychology or related fields, shall:
- Recruit students and coordinate services at assigned sites.
- Provide group and individual supervision to tutors in their regions.
- Maintain program record completion for evaluation purposes.
- Conduct program fidelity observations and assessments as needed.
- Contact parents for required programmatic touch‑points and help plan parent involvement events.
- Oversee distribution of beginning‑ and end‑of‑program letters and parent communications for all participating children in their regions.
Employment commences tentatively on June 10, 2026, and runs in conjunction with the MDCPS calendar. Supervisors work a minimum of 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, and receive a summer salary of $9,000. Mandatory training dates and times will be announced. Supervisors are required to drive to their assigned site(s) daily (valid driver’s license required; travel compensation may be provided).
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma and 1 year of experience in subject areas or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor’s or higher in Education/Special Education, Psychology/Mental Health, or a related field with field experience working with children in school, after‑school, or summer settings.

Temporary DisclosureAs a temporary employee, you will not be eligible to participate in all employee benefit programs (e.g., paid leave, retirement, or tuition reimbursement). Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, a temporary employee who works an average of 30 hours or more per week may be eligible to enroll in health care benefits. Temporary employees may also enroll in supplemental plans (e.g., dental, vision) with full payment from their side.
