Job TitleGeneral Teacher
OverviewEnsure high-quality instruction linked to the school and district strategic goals for all students. Provide a rigorous academic environment that actively engages students; incorporate best educational practices; create an inclusive environment; and support social/emotional development.
Student Achievement Metrics- 90% of Pre‑K‑2nd students are on/above grade level in reading, language, and math.
- 85% of 1st‑2nd students are on/above grade level in reading, language, and math.
- 80% of students achieve Level 3, 50% achieve Level 4, and 20% at Level 5 on FAST exams.
- Junior Class ACT Average Score of 21
- 100% of BPA seniors meet the requirements for Graduation.
- 50% of all students in Intervention grow two or more years in Reading and Math.
- Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students.
- Help shape and develop a school‑wide culture that fosters a productive and enthusiastic learning environment for each student.
- Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust, understanding, and respect for the communities in which they identify.
- Implement and uphold the BPA behavior management system that aligns with campus‑wide initiatives while developing students’ character and sense of community in the classroom.
- Complete all lesson internalization based on curriculum vision to achieve district goals.
- Collect and analyze student data to make effective decisions to maximize achievement.
- Discuss students’ progress with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators.
- Implement state learning standards and BPA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
- Implement formal and informal assessments to track each student’s progress and learning needs, adjust lesson plans accordingly and update the grade book weekly.
- Communicate students’ progress with students and families every week.
- Use technology effectively as a communication and educational tool to improve student achievement and manage work‑related tasks.
- Host necessary tutoring sessions to meet all students’ needs.
- Participate in weekly check‑ins, grade‑level meetings, before and after‑school duties, and school‑wide meetings and functions.
- Engage in summer and year‑long district, school, and personal learning and development.
- Commit to a minimum of 40+ hours spent at school per week.
- Value the voices of all staff, families, and students.
- Work in collaboration to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
- Seek and respond well to feedback and collaborate to find solutions.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four‑year educational institution.
- Experience in a classroom setting preferred.
- State certification required.
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
- Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment.
Light work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move.
