Village Montessori is seeking a passionate, nurturing, and dedicated Montessori Guide to lead a prepared environment that supports the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of each child. The ideal candidate is committed to authentic Montessori principles, values collaboration with families and colleagues, and fosters a respectful, joyful, and engaging learning community.
Role DescriptionThe Primary Montessori Guide is a full-time, on-site role based in Miami, FL. This role is responsible for preparing and maintaining an authentic Montessori environment, presenting lessons according to Montessori principles, and observing each child to support their individual development. The guide will plan and implement age-appropriate activities, foster independence, and cultivate a respectful, inclusive classroom community. Daily responsibilities include guiding children through work cycles, communicating with families about student progress, documenting observations, and collaborating with assistants and colleagues.
The Primary Montessori Guide will also participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events to support the broader school community.
- Formal Montessori training and certification (AMI, AMS, or equivalent) for the Primary (3–6) level, or in progress.
- Demonstrated classroom experience working with children ages 3–6 in a Montessori or similar child-centered environment.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain a calm, orderly, and nurturing environment.
- Excellent observation, documentation, and communication skills to track progress and partner effectively with families.
- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency or strong interest in working in a bilingual environment is a plus.
- Ability to collaborate with teaching assistants and staff, maintain professionalism, and contribute positively to a team culture.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and respect for diverse backgrounds, abilities, and family structures.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field preferred.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain, and capacity to meet all licensing and background requirements.
