2026-27 PT Elementary Teacher Assistant at Middleton
The Villages Charter School is accepting applications for a Part‑Time Elementary Teacher’s Assistant for our Middleton Campus for the 2026‑2027 School Year. Applicants must have an Associate Degree (or higher) or a passing score on the Para Pro Assessment.
Salary commensurate with experience, starting at $15.00 per hour.
DESCRIPTIONTo assist the teacher(s) and/or other school personnel by performing assigned tasks in order to provide a quality educational program for students.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIESThe expectations include the following and other duties as assigned:
- Use effective, positive interpersonal skills
- Assist the classroom teacher(s) in supervising classroom learning activities.
- Assist the classroom teacher(s) in preparing instructional materials and equipment.
- Plan and organize appropriate instruction using guidelines established by the teacher or administrator.
- Maintain a clean and orderly environment for students.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
- Assist in maintaining positive relations between the school and the parents.
- Carry out learning activities as prescribed by the classroom teacher(s).
- Listen to oral readings, reports, etc as assigned by teacher(s).
- Assist the classroom teacher in administering and assessing standardized and teacher‑prepared tests.
- Assist teacher in correcting student classwork and homework.
- Read to students in small groups.
- Supervise students when the teacher must leave the room for a short period of time.
- Assist with housekeeping chores in the classroom.
- Familiarize self with daily plans/activities and assist in the preparation and implementation of these plans.
- Administer basic first aid using universal precautions.

- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have an Associate Degree (or higher) or a passing score on the Para Pro Assessment.
- Such additional or alternative qualifications to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
183 days – Non‑Exempt. Length of the work year and hours of employment are those established by the Board.
EVALUATIONPerformance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of TVCS policy on evaluations of personnel.
