The Librarian position at Ransom Everglades School is a full-time staff position reporting to the Director of Libraries. This position is based on the Middle School campus and supports the Middle and Upper School libraries.

Essential Duties Responsibilities:
  • Teach research and digital and information literacy skills to middle school students.
  • Collaborate with library staff to develop and manage the middle school print and digital collections and resources.
  • Initiate library programming and outreach that aligns with school values.
  • Performing typical library tasks including, but not limited to, cataloging and processing of materials, inventorying, weeding, collection evaluation, and creation of topical displays.
  • Liaise with faculty to develop print and digital resources to support the curriculum.
  • Maintain and update current Lib Guides and create new ones as required.
  • Manage and evaluate MS library subscriptions.
  • Assist users with research and reference questions.
  • Prepare periodic library communication to the community.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the library webpage and related digital platforms.
  • Stay abreast of products and developments in digital resource management and provide related instruction to faculty and students.
  • Cross-train in library duties on both campuses.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Master's degree from an ALA-accredited library and information science program.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency in library management systems;
    Atrium and Lib Guides preferred.
  • Proficiency with academic databases.
  • Previous library experience; school library experience (preferred).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel between campuses.
