Greater Miami Adventist Academy is a pre-kindergarten through twelfth-grade school located in an affluent residential neighborhood in Miami. GMAA has a rich history in the community and is known for its athletic, science, computer, and music programs. The school is situated on a beautiful 12-acre campus where it has been since 1989. They offer a Christ-centered learning environment that helps families experience excellence in Seventh-day Adventist education.
The Academy has been committed to excellence and innovation, providing a dynamic, well-rounded curriculum that gives students opportunities to develop critical thinking skills as they acquire academic knowledge. Currently, they have 40 full- and part-time teachers, staff, and administrators who provide instruction and guidance to over 350 students.
GMAA is seeking a middle and/or high school math teacher for the upcoming school year. Responsibilities may include teaching Algebra 1, Geometry, and Math for College Readiness. In addition, Algebra and Geometry would have honors components. The candidate must be a team player, creative, and able to deliver instruction to students using a variety of teaching methods and activities. Applicants for this position must model Christ-like behavior and attitudes that will positively impact students in leading them to Christ.
Applicant must be a tithe-paying Seventh-day Adventist church member in good standing and have the legal right to work in the United States, providing evidence if employed. A minimum of a bachelor's degree with North American Division (Denominational) Teacher Certification is required and must be maintained (or must agree to work towards obtaining NAD Certification). A minimum of three years of successful classroom experience is preferred.
