Applies strengths-based advising and coaching strategies to deliver personalized pre-transition guidance. Advises students through one‑on‑one meetings (in‑person and virtually) and small group sessions, offering guidance on major selection, prerequisites, transfer admission requirements. Delivers transition workshops and information sessions at key credit milestones to support academic readiness and successful transfer.

Maintains current knowledge of transfer policies, procedures, and best practices in transfer and transition support.

  • Contribute to transfer student enrollment goals by supporting recruitment and/or initiatives such as transfer fairs, FIU showcases, and Admitted Student Day events.
  • Contribute to the C4S/transfer social media presence by providing content (e.g., transfer tips, brief student stories, and event photography).
  • Participate in meetings and serve on task forces, working groups, and committees as assigned. Advance and share initiatives by actively participating in conferences and other professional convenings, including developing and delivering presentations.
  • Act as a liaison between FIU and the partner college or student, assisting in resolving student‑specific issues and responding to transfer‑related inquiries from partner college staff.
  • Stay current on transfer policies, procedures, and best practices through professional development and independent study.
