Larkin University College of Pharmacy (LUCOP) invites applications for the position of Assistant Dean of Assessment. This position provides leadership for College-wide assessment, with emphasis on evaluating student learning, curricular effectiveness, program outcomes, and stakeholder feedback. Working with faculty, staff, and administrators, the Assistant Dean will strengthen assessment processes, translate findings into practical improvements, and support a culture of evidence-informed decision-making.

Assessment evidence will also support programmatic accreditation readiness and reporting and College strategic planning. The position reports to the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, works with the college leadership, and holds a faculty appointment.

LUCOP's accelerated Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm

D) program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and is a three-year curriculum. Larkin University is a private not-for-profit 501(c)(3) university and consists of the College of Pharmacy, College of Biomedical Sciences, School of Physician Assistant Studies, and School of Dental Medicine. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and maintain a College assessment plan that uses appropriate measures, methods, and timelines to evaluate student learning, curriculum quality, program outcomes, and stakeholder perspectives.
  • Coordinate the collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of assessment data to guide continuous improvement, student support, academic planning, and College-level decision-making.
  • Partner with faculty, staff, and College committees to design, implement, and refine assessment tools, including surveys, examinations, rubrics, course and curricular assessments, and other outcome measures.
  • Use assessment findings to identify strengths, emerging needs, and opportunities for improvement in curriculum, program delivery, student services, and operational processes.
  • Maintain organized assessment records and dashboards/reports that support data integrity and timely use by appropriate College stakeholders.
  • Use assessment evidence to support ACPE-related reporting and programmatic accreditation activities in collaboration with the Dean and College leadership.
  • Align assessment activities with the College strategic plan and help translate findings into actionable improvement plans.
  • Provide guidance and professional development for faculty and staff on assessment practices, use of data, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Remain engaged with current practices in pharmacy education assessment, program evaluation, and educational quality improvement.
  • Contribute to teaching, scholarship, service, and other academic activities in pharmacy education.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Dean of the College.
Job Requirements

The successful candidate must hold a doctoral degree (PhD, Pharm

D, EdD, or equivalent). Faculty and/or administrative rank will be commensurate with candidate’s qualifications, background, and experience in assessment, pharmacy education, or related health sciences areas.

  • Experience or demonstrated engagement with assessment, educational evaluation, assessment methods, or related work in pharmacy or closely related health sciences educational setting.
  • Knowledge of assessment design, data collection, data analysis, interpretation, and reporting for academic programs.
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly, build consensus, and work collaboratively with faculty, staff, administrators, and College committees.
  • Knowledge of programmatic accreditation expectations related to assessment and reporting.
  • Strong organization, project management, time management, and follow-through across assessment and improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics), statistical tools (e.g., SPSS, SAS, or R), and data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau or Power BI) is desirable.
  • Demonstrated collegiality and commitment to supporting a positive College culture.
