Responsibilities
As a School Counselor with Catapult Learning, you will:
- Counsel individual or small groups of students in multiple grade levels in a face‑to‑face school setting.
- Positively impact the educational, behavioral, social, and emotional welfare of every child you engage.
- Nurture student potential through personalized, small group, and classroom counseling, which may focus on academic, emotional, behavioral, or developmental issues.
- Provide support to families, classroom teachers, school principals, and other personnel to maximize effectiveness of services.
- Perform learning assessments when requested, to inform academic performance and referrals.
- Empower parents and school personnel by helping them access community resources tailored to individual students and families.
- Maintain administrative excellence by completing paperwork with accuracy and efficiency.
- Stay current on changes and trends in the field to deliver guidance and support.
- Follow the Company Counseling Policy and Procedure Manual, funding source, and individual school regulations.
- Supervise students at all times, escorting them safely to and from classrooms and learning stations; light lifting and stair climbing may be required.
- Enter data promptly for student attendance, progress reports, parent and teacher communications, and compliance documentation.
- Maintain required student forms and files for company, local, state, and federal agencies.
- Communicate consistently with supervisors, teachers, principals, and parents.
- Other duties as assigned.
What we’ll need from you:
- Current Florida state licensure or certification required (LMHC, LMFT, LCSW, or school counseling certification). Intern licenses are accepted.
- Master’s degree in a counseling field (counseling, social work, psychology, or related field).
- Experience working with school‑aged children or in educational settings.
- Willingness and ability to work with various grade levels.
- Ability to navigate online platforms for record keeping and communication.
- A passion for helping students.
