Sagemont Preparatory School is seeking an experienced educational leader to serve as our Upper School Principal
. The Upper School Principal serves as the chief instructional leader for grades 6–12, cultivating a culture where academic rigor, innovation, student ownership, and continuous improvement thrive.
This role is ideal for a courageous, compassionate, and visionary leader who can inspire faculty excellence, champion meaningful learning experiences, and help students develop the skills and mindsets needed to lead and innovate in a rapidly changing world. The successful candidate will be a visible and trusted presence throughout the school community, engaging with students, faculty, families, and staff while advancing Sagemont Prep’s mission and long-term goals.
As Upper School Principal
, you will lead with integrity, creativity, and strategic clarity. You will support a future-focused academic program, strengthen instructional practice, cultivate emerging leaders, and establish systems that promote sustainable excellence. You will also work in close partnership with Lower School leadership to ensure a cohesive PK3–12 educational experience through meaningful academic, cultural, and co-curricular engagement.
- Serve as the chief instructional leader for grades 6–12, supporting academic programming, faculty excellence, student growth, and school wide improvement.
- Lead the continued development of a future-focused academic program that balances rigor, innovation, intellectual exploration, and authentic application of learning.
- Analyze student achievement data and use data-driven insights to guide recommendations, decisions, and implementation of the Sagemont Prep curriculum.
- Coach teachers in classroom management, instructional methodology, assessment practices, curriculum alignment, and general school procedures.
- Lead the design and implementation of faculty orientation, professional development, mentoring, and teacher evaluation programs.
- Partner with faculty to identify opportunities for interdisciplinary learning, experiential education, leadership development, entrepreneurship, and real‑world problem solving.
- Ensure students are well‑prepared for success beyond graduation through rigorous academics, personalized guidance, and strong college‑and‑career‑readiness programming.
- Oversee academic guidance related to grading practices, assessment standards, instructional expectations, and student progress.
- Foster a culture of curiosity, reflection, responsible risk‑taking, social responsibility, and continuous growth.
- Collaborate with all school departments to ensure effective communication, planning, and execution of key school programs, initiatives, and events.
- Build and maintain positive, trusting relationships with students, families, faculty, staff, and community stakeholders.
