Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English interpretation
- Experience in an educational or school setting preferred
- Successful completion of an interpreter training program
- National or state interpreter certification (such as EIPA, RID, or equivalent), or willingness to obtain
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Interpret classroom instruction, school communications, and activities for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Support staff and families in bridging communication gaps
- Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct
- Adapt interpreting style to meet student and curriculum needs
