Position Summary

The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Department of Cell Biology is recruiting a faculty member with a strong research background in cell biology or related fields, including molecular biology, developmental biology, stem cell biology, imaging, or bioinformatics. The position encompasses basic and applied research, teaching, and graduate student mentoring.

• Contribute to basic and applied research activities; participate in the publication of significant results; advance expertise through education, training, and research experience.
• Seek extramural research funding.
• Mentor graduate students and postdoctoral associates.
• Publish research papers.
• Provide service to the department and scientific community.
• Present at national and international meetings.
• Analyze and summarize data in original manuscripts, reviews, book chapters, editorials, and patent applications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent.
• Strong research background in cell biology or related fields.
• Proven ability to seek and obtain extramural, preferably federal, funding.
• Track record of publishing in high‑impact scientific journals.
• Experience in teaching and mentoring graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and medical fellows.
• Ability to establish and manage an independent research group.

• Ph.D. or M.D.
