About MEP Trade Learning Center

MEP Trade Learning Center is dedicated to developing the next generation of skilled trades professionals through high‑quality education, hands‑on training, and workforce development programs. We are seeking an experienced Electrician Instructor to educate, mentor, and prepare students for successful careers in the electrical industry.

Position Summary

The Electrician Instructor will provide classroom and hands‑on instruction to students pursuing careers in electrical construction and maintenance. This role requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and a passion for teaching and workforce development.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Teach electrical theory, wiring methods, electrical systems, and safety procedures.
  • Provide hands‑on training in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical applications.
  • Instruct students on the National Electrical Code (NEC) and industry best practices.
  • Develop lesson plans, training materials, quizzes, and practical exercises.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain attendance, grades, and student performance records.
  • Promote and enforce OSHA and workplace safety standards.
  • Assist students in preparing for industry certifications and employment opportunities.
  • Support curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain training equipment, tools, and classroom facilities.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of electrical field experience.
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred.
  • Experience in commercial, industrial, or mission‑critical electrical projects preferred.
  • Prior teaching, training, apprenticeship, or mentoring experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
  • NCCER Instructor Certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively engage and motivate students.
