About Girls Inc.
Girls Inc. of Greater Miami is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building the next generation of strong, smart, and bold leaders. The Girls Inc. Experience provides comprehensive and interactive leadership development to equip girls with the knowledge and skills to reach their full potential and the support to actively realize it.
Through our free after school programming, Strong Girls, we equip 2nd-5th grade girls - particularly girls from historically under-resourced communities - with the knowledge and skills to create positive changes in their lives and to become leaders who will change the world.
Our professionally trained staff and volunteers provide mentorship, safe spaces, and skill building that address the unique challenges girls face. We cultivate physically and emotionally safe environments where girls are encouraged to take healthy risks, learn from experiences, and grow.
As a member of the Girls Inc. team, you will have the opportunity to work with passionate individuals who are committed to creating a world where every girl can reach her full potential.
What a Typical Week Looks LikeEach week begins with Team Huddle, where facilitators walk through the week's lesson plans, confirm what materials they'll need, and review any changes to the schedule before girls arrive. From there, each afternoon begins with receiving girls from school dismissal and leading them through the day's planned activities, including snack, homework time, and different enrichment activities. The days are designed to be fun, engaging and purposeful, each component with a clear goal.
A weekly check-in gives facilitators time to share what's working, work through challenges, and stay connected with the Program Coordinator for further support. Facilitators are trusted to deliver programming with intention and consistency, so every girl gets the same high-quality experience no matter which site she’s at.
