Position: 2026- Broward College Peer Mentoring Program

Overview

2026
- Broward College Peer Mentoring Program. Broward College has partnered with Peer Forward, Volunteer Florida and Ameri Corps State and National to launch the Peer Mentoring and Leadership program, the first of its kind. Broward College's Peer Mentoring Program will serve low-income, first generation, first time in college, students and students facing barriers to their success in post-secondary education through the nationally established evidence-based mentoring program in Broward County, Florida.

At the end of the program year, Ameri Corps Peer Leaders will help currently enrolled Broward College students overcome barriers to their success in college, as well as increase their academic preparedness and efficacy to ensure persistence and completion of a degree or training program. Program focus area:
Education. The ideal candidate should be a current Broward College student or recent alumni. For more information and recruitment opportunities, visit our program website ward.edu/mentoring.

Responsibilities
  • Ameri Corps Peer Leaders provide one on one and group Peer Mentoring to other enrolled Broward College students.

  • Participate in student success activities such as class registration, resource sharing, mentoring, coaching and more.

  • Serve the Broward College community. Peer Leaders serve our community through various service opportunities such as food distribution/pantry, college campus tours and more.

  • Collaborate with various internal stakeholders to empower students to build leadership and transferrable skills.
