Breakthrough Miami provides an academic and social enrichment program that uses a student-teaching-students model to ensure students who are traditionally marginalized due to systemic inequities, have access to rigorous learning environments, near-peer mentoring, wrap around advising, supportive networks, and resources to thrive in and outside the classroom, graduate from high school on time, and attend college. The program serves 1,700 students in 5th through 12th grade.
Academic Success Coaches provide essential support to students on their 8-year path as Breakthrough Scholars. Working directly with Scholars, Academic Success Coaches provide mentoring, academic support, and coaching. Additionally, Coaches support program planning and implementation, and other activities to contribute to the success of Breakthrough Scholars. Academic Success Coaches receive extensive training in a variety of areas to prepare for a rewarding and successful placement with Breakthrough.
