- On-site at an Alpha campus in New York City, NY, or Miami, FL — relocation assistance available
- $200,000/year
- Full-time
When students struggle, most schools lower the bar. You raise it.
You hold the conviction that young learners are capable of achievements far beyond what conventional classrooms demand, and you have led teams that deliver measurable proof. You understand that lasting change comes from motivation, accountability, and elevated standards—not from adding another worksheet to the pile.
Alpha devotes just two hours each morning to academics, powered by adaptive learning technology. This structure allows you to concentrate on the work with the greatest long-term impact: coaching students toward independence while cultivating the Guides who enable that transformation. You will be accountable for outcomes in a K-3 cohort, leveraging data, observation, and coaching to ensure every child loves learning, progresses at twice the typical rate, and builds outstanding life skills.
This position is neither an instructional coach nor a principal role. Your days will not be consumed by meetings or administrative paperwork. Instead, you will spend time in classrooms, evaluating student and Guide performance, facilitating workshops on resilience, communication, focus, and accountability, and coaching both children and adults toward quantifiable growth.
Your impact will extend beyond your immediate cohort. You will capture what succeeds, create playbooks that elevate standards across the campus, and contribute to how Alpha prepares future Guides. If you are energized by developing people, scaling excellence, and demonstrating that extraordinary results are achievable when expectations remain high, we want to hear from you.
What You Will Be Doing
- Coach Guides and students by applying performance data, classroom observations, and direct feedback to drive measurable improvements.
- Design and deliver compelling workshops for K-3 students centered on communication, resilience, collaboration, accountability, focus, and additional life skills.
- Conduct one-on-one and small-group coaching sessions that align student motivation with academic progress and independence.
- Develop and iterate on repeatable coaching playbooks that elevate performance across the Guide team.
- Train and support Guides while demonstrating exceptional coaching and facilitation practices daily.
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Providing traditional classroom instruction or lecturing on academic content; adaptive technology manages core academics.
- Addressing behavior through punishment or reducing expectations when students face challenges.
- Operating from an office rather than engaging directly with students and Guides each day.
- Overseeing campus operations, budgets, or parent communication; your priority is developing people and enhancing outcomes.
- Adhering to conventional elementary school methods simply because “that’s the way it’s always been done.”
Head Coach Key Responsibilities Fulfill Alpha’s three promises for every K-3 student by cultivating high-performing Guides, highly motivated students, and a coaching culture that reliably delivers exceptional academic and life outcomes.
