Senior Field Technician – Air Emissions

Overview

RWDI is a values‑based organization driven by innovation, integrity, and integration. We seek a Senior Field Technician – Source Emission to lead complex source testing projects across various industrial sectors, combining hands‑on fieldwork with leadership and client‑facing responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project teams in the field, performing on‑site stack testing and source emissions monitoring per federal and regional regulatory methods (e.g., EPA Reference Methods, ECCC).
  • Plan and manage field deployments, including crew logistics, equipment preparation, and safety procedures.
  • Analyze collected data and ensure QA/QC protocols are strictly followed throughout testing and reporting.
  • Serve as a technical liaison with clients, regulators, and internal teams to communicate project scope, progress, and findings.
  • Train, mentor, and oversee junior field technicians and new team members on project assignments.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain analytical and sampling equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Support project scoping, scheduling, and budgeting in collaboration with project managers and senior leadership.
  • Keep current with evolving environmental regulations and industry best practices.
  • Prepare high‑quality technical reports, including regulatory documentation, emissions data summaries, and field observations.
Requirements
  • Post‑secondary education in Environmental Technology, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Preferably a minimum of 5 years of experience working in the Air Quality field.
  • Ambient monitoring experience is an asset.
  • Strong computer and analytical technical hands‑on skills.
  • An aptitude for practical problem‑solving.
  • Field/site experience is a definite asset.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver’s license.
