Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Bridge Project Engineer to join our growing Bridges & Structures team in Miami, FL! - Lead the technical design and assigned staff on bridge projects while developing work plans for various bridge designs and coordinate with disciplines
- Perform calculations, computer modeling, design and drawing reviews, cost estimating, develop specifications/construction documents and lead construction phase support tasks.
- Projects include new or rehabilitated highway, rail and pedestrian bridges and culverts, retaining walls and temporary structures for contractors.
- Assist in the mentoring and development of staff.
- Participate in the development and updates of internal standards of practices.
- Perform quality control and assurance checks on design computations, computer modeling, CAD drawings, reports, estimates and specifications.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, other design professionals, and contractors.
- Act as quality coordinator for discipline led projects.
- Assist in the development of technical narratives, scope and fee for project pursuits.
- May serve on professional association committees for establishment of policies, standards, procedures, and research at a local, state, or national level.
- May represent the company and present projects at professional and technical society conferences and seminars.
- May stamp/sign drawings or reports and/or serve as Engineer of Record for the project.
- Bachelors degree in civil engineering required.
- 7+ years of professional bridge design engineering required.
- Florida PE license required.
- Proficiency with Micro Station and/or Civil3D a plus.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong work ethic and willingness for continued learning.
- Knowledge of FDOT, AASHTO and AREMA design codes a plus.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
