CMA is hiring an Inspector to work on civil engineering construction projects, including water and wastewater utilities, storm water, land development, roadway and transportation projects for public and private sector clients. The role requires travel and coordination with professionals from other offices within Florida. A company vehicle will be provided.

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials, and all issues concerning the construction of a project under direct supervision.
• Determine the acceptability of the day-to-day work performed by the contractor. Review and recommend the acceptance or rejection of daily reports submitted by the contractor, inspect the contractor’s quality control procedures and material testing, and verify conformance with the approved Quality Control Plan and established procedures.
• Review material testing procedures and results for conformance to the contract and measure quantities of materials placed. May be required to perform sampling and/or in-place testing of soil, aggregate base, concrete, and asphalt concrete pavement.

• High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in construction inspection for site-related projects (including water/sewer, roadway, stormwater, facility design, land development). Four (4) years or more of site construction inspection experience is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record.
• Candidates may substitute a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management in place of the listed experience.
• Proficiency with inspection-related documentation including daily reporting and electronic correspondence.
• Strong sense of urgency, project responsibility and initiative. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite (Word and Excel).
