Structural Bridge Engineer

Miami, FL

We have an immediately available opportunity for a Structural/Bridge Engineer. The successful candidate will be heavily involved in advisory services to clients, preparing detailed engineering designs, specifications, drawings, and schedules, and working closely with our client and contractor partners. The candidate will represent the company in technical meetings with our clients, and supervise the work of our junior staff, providing technical and professional guidance to assist their development.

• Extensive experience managing complex multidisciplinary projects.
• Proactive approach, with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios.
• Proven client liaison skills.
• Knowledge and ability to apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in the design of transportation engineering projects.
• Carry out work activities including communicating with various municipalities, utility and governmental regulating agencies.
• Ability to work on multiple projects at one time.
• Ability to apply independent judgment and make recommendations on field design changes.

• Procuring and coordinating sub-consultants for transportation projects.
• Coordinating acquisition of project information
• Developing design concepts and criteria.
• Highway bridge and miscellaneous structures design.
• Bridge inspection and maintenance services.
• Preparation of contract documents including plans and specifications.
• Preparation of permit and approval applications.
• Bid phase services.
• Post design engineering services during construction.

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience required in roadway design discipline, particularly FDOT or projects for state transportation agencies.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License in the state of Florida is required.
• Mathcad experience a plus.
• System usage with Auto CAD or Civil 3D required. Micro Station experiences desired.
• Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
