Job SummaryMiller Electric-The Field Layout Coordinator is responsible for training, supporting, and coordinating field layout operations across projects, leveraging advanced surveying technology and coordinated digital models. Drawing on hands‑on field layout experience, this role ensures project teams are properly trained, supported, and aligned to execute accurate construction layout using robotic total stations, GPS systems, and BIM‑driven workflows.
Working closely with field personnel, project management, surveyors, and VDC teams, the Field Layout Coordinator provides guidance on layout best practices, verifies alignment between coordinated BIM models and field conditions, and supports the accurate placement of critical construction elements such as walls, conduits, foundations, sleeves, and inserts. This role supports project schedules, safety, and quality by improving layout readiness, consistency, and execution across projects.

- Serve as the primary training and support resource for field layout teams using robotic total stations and GPS systems
- Coordinate and support layout training for project teams to ensure readiness prior to layout activities
- Provide on‑site and remote troubleshooting support for layout workflows, equipment, and data coordination
- Support the establishment and verification of control points, gridlines, and reference benchmarks in coordination with surveyors and project teams
- Review layout practices to ensure accuracy and compliance with project standards and drawings
- Assist in validating layout data to confirm alignment with approved models and field conditions
- Perform layout duties as needed
- Review digital models, layout sheets, and construction drawings to support field teams’ understanding of layout scope
- Verify layout points and workflows align with the current coordinated model and approved construction documents
- Provide guidance to reduce layout‑related errors and rework
• Robotic Total Stations (e.g., Trimble RTS series)

Qualifications- 2+ years of field layout experience in electrical construction required
- Experience operating robotic total stations and digital layout equipment required
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications a plus)
- Proficient in reading construction drawings and interpreting BIM‑generated points required
