Human Resources Generalist at Diamondback Marine and Ramlin
Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and technical oversight of mechanical systems and components used in marine towers and offshore structures. This role involves supporting new build and projects, ensuring engineering excellence and compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Analysis: Lead the mechanical design of marine tower systems, including load-bearing structures, rotating equipment, and sub-systems
- Perform structural analysis of aluminum and composite components
- Be familiar with designing for die casting, permanent molding, and welding processes
- Project Support: Collaborate with structural, electrical, and marine engineers on multidisciplinary projects
- Assist the Engineering Manager in planning and executing engineering tasks within timelines and budgets
- Standards and Compliance: Ensure designs meet regulatory and classification requirements
- Prepare and review technical documentation such as specifications, datasheets, calculation reports, and test procedures
- Vendor and Fabrication Support: Support procurement by reviewing vendor documentation and ensuring compliance with technical requirements
- Oversee fabrication processes and perform inspections as required
- Customer Support and Installation: Provide engineering support during installation, testing, and maintenance of marine tower mechanical systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues with offshore suppliers
- Team Mentorship and Leadership: Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
- Support the Engineering Manager in reviewing and approving engineering deliverables
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 4 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in the automotive, marine, or aerospace sectors
- Knowledge of marine structural and mechanical systems
- Familiarity with automotive design processes
- Proficient in CAD and engineering software (Solid Works, Fusion, ANSYS, etc.)
- Familiarity with international design codes (GD&T, ASME, ISO, DNV-GL, API)
- Ability to work under the direction of senior management while independently executing technical tasks
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with offshore platforms, telecom towers, or wind turbine support structures
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification
- Experience working in shipyards or offshore facilities
- Office-based work with periodic travel to boat manufactures, offshore suppliers, and vendor sites.
- Adherence to all company and industry safety protocols.
