Job Title: Construction Cost Estimator — RIB US Cost
Location: Miami, Florida
Employment Type: Full time - 5 days onsite at the Miami Airport
RIB U.S. Cost () is seeking a Cost Estimator to join our production estimating team. In this role, you will prepare and coordinate detailed cost estimates across all project phases while ensuring alignment with client objectives, budgets, and design requirements. We are looking for candidates with experience in one or more major disciplines, including general construction, architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or environmental.
Under the guidance of a Level 3 Estimator, responsibilities include preparing cost estimates across all project stages—planning, design, bid, and construction—performing detailed quantity takeoffs, pricing labor, materials, and equipment, applying cost escalations based on project schedules, conducting bid cost analyses, and participating in cost negotiations.
- Collaborates with a team of estimators who are qualified to perform capital cost estimating.
- Aids with the resolution of difficult and complex estimating problems, reconciliation with the contractor, comparison analysis between estimate submission and response to estimate comments.
- Adheres to all policies related to the handling of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
- Prepares material takeoffs on the complex projects, drawings, and plans.
- Reviews takeoffs provided by others and checks for mathematical and technical accuracy.
- Prepares detailed breakdown of components and elements of estimates for systems and subsystems.
- Assigns material, equipment, subsystem, and subcontractor costs and labor costs to the estimate takeoff and quantification; obtains quotes for materials and services from vendors and suppliers.
- Prepares cost estimates for all types of projects, from concept, SD, DD, CD to change order estimates.
- Participates in client review and presentation meetings as required.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Experience in construction cost estimating.
- Experience specific to mechanical, electrical, or civil disciplines highly desired.
- Able to perform estimating activities typical to the A/E/C industry is required.
- Possess excellent communication skills and a working knowledge of typical estimating software.
- Be proficient in estimating software and Microsoft 365.
- Have a clear understanding, and ability to work with, architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience with complex building, large infrastructure and/or aviation projects required.
- Experience working for a contractor during the construction phase of a project is strongly desired.
- Exhibit a high degree of professionalism in the production of deliverables and in interactions with fellow employees and clients.
