Maritime Summer Internship, Miami - Fleet in Service Surveyor

We are currently looking for students to join us for a Summer 2026 internship in Miami, Florida.

We will select Seniors based on business needs aligned with your education, experience, and background.

We are primarily hiring candidates with relevant Bachelor or Masters program specializations from:

• Marine Engineering
• Marine Transportation/Operations
• Marine Machinery
• Marine Technology
• Materials Science and Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Naval Architecture
• Mechatronics

• The internship will last approximately 10 weeks. You will have the opportunity to work within various relevant technical disciplines. Our ambition is to give a broad technical foundation to pursue your career further.
• You will be given the chance to explore our Maritime organization and become familiar with the daily working life of surveyors and technical employees. You will gain valuable surveying, inspection, and technical experience.
• You will become well acquainted with the DNV's company culture and organization and expand your professional network. We are confident that we can offer an interesting, challenging, and fun experience.
• You will be responsible for a technical project for DNV, which will be agreed after selection of the internship.
• Gain familiarisation with different types of vessels, for example cargo vessels, container vessels, tankers and cruise ships.
• Gain familiarisation with vessel design and construction onboard ships and sically inspect vessels deck side, engine room, accommodation and bridge.
• Gain experience with steel repair procedures, like welding, Non Destructive Testing methods, visual inspection and pressure testing.
