Pinto Valley is an open-pit copper mine located at the west end of the historic Globe-Miami mining district of central Arizona, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix. Pinto Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than four billion pounds of copper. Acquired by Capstone from BHP in 2013, the mine is fully permitted through 2039 and a study is underway to potentially extend the mine life through 2050.

POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for (including but not limited to) the effective management and execution of small to medium engineering projects. Responsibilities will include developing Project Charters, AFE’s, Scope of Work documents, project forecasts, monitor project spending, hosting technical presentations, and assist Project Managers through the construction process. Demonstrate an understanding of the Project Management Process, the ability to read engineering drawings, review technical documents, and ensure appropriate adjustments are made to best suit Pinto Valley.

This position will be expected to host bid presentations, evaluate bid submittals, facilitate meetings with internal and external stakeholders, review and fully understand project design as an Electrical Subject Matter Expert to ensure goals and KPI’s for HSEC, Production, Maintenance, Quality and Cost are achieved for Pinto Valley. The position will also provide timely and accurate reporting as required.
