Job Description

Amcor Rigid Packaging Solutions North America (RPSNA) is seeking a Product Development Engineer to lead the technical aspects of development projects from initiation to full production capability. The role works closely with customers, sales, design engineers, project managers, R&D, manufacturing, and other stakeholders to develop next‑generation products that drive profitability and growth.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a multi‑functional team through the development of new products from concept, manufacturing implementation, and commercial launch.
  • Execute the project plan and drive decisions to deliver the project on time, within budget, and within scope.
  • Oversee product and tooling design, lead ideation sessions, conduct competitive analysis, document design requirements, perform DFMEA, and lead design reviews.
  • Coordinate the Technical Development Plan, including cost inputs, capital equipment costs, and technology evaluations.
  • Lead technical communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Report deviations on time, cost, and deliverables to senior management as the project progresses.
  • Ensure adherence to Amcor, industry, and regulatory procedures, including Management of Change, Stage Gate, and ISO processes.
  • Work closely with quality personnel to establish critical‑to‑quality metrics and validate process capability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant experience in product development and manufacturing of bottles, including multi‑process expertise such as EBM, SBM, and RHB.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and programs (SPC/DOE/Mini Tab).
  • Self‑motivated and assertive.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi‑task, be a proactive thinker, and be results‑oriented.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills for data‑driven decisions.
Compensation

Salary range: $120,000–$140,000 (may vary within $110,200 to $155,000 based on experience, skills, and location). Additional compensation may include Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan or Sales Incentive Plan, annual bonus program, and medical coverage with other health and welfare benefits. Pay transparency applies within designated jurisdictions.
