Who are we looking for?

ADA Engineering, a GHD company, is currently looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their Florida based team in Miami! In this role, you will work alongside project team members to design lighting and electrical distribution systems and develop construction drawings for projects that could include commercial office, retail, government, educational, and transportation. You will perform electrical calculations, specify equipment and design projects in accordance with applicable codes, industry standards and engineering practices.

This role will also give you the opportunity to perform investigative site visits and attend client meetings.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

* Engineering Standards Specification:
Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards.

* Engineering Inspections:
Carry out inspections under the supervision of senior colleagues to evaluate the quality of engineering works and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures, and make recommendations to senior colleagues on the remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements.

* Project Management:
Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.

* Personal Capability Building:
Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

* Engineering Solutions Design:
Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.

* Client & Customer Management (External):
Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships.

What you'll bring to the team:

* Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering is required

* 4-7 years of electrical power systems experience

* Familiarity with National Electrical Code

* Experience in AutoCAD with experience in Revit being a plus

* Experience with AGI
32 and SKM Power Systems is preferred
