Electrical Engineer 1

Under direct supervision, creates basic designs of electric master system plans, power system, protection and generation models, facility power systems, sustainability/renewable energy systems, and other similar electrical systems. Performs studies of power systems and electrical calculations for lighting simulations, lighting layouts, communications, fire alarm, security and other similar calculations. Assists with the selection and specification of electrical components including motor control centers, switchgears, transformers, etc.

Reviews draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Ensures firm policies and practices are followed on all designs. Performs site reviews and studies as needed. Updates design requirements. Contributes to firm’s TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation. Submits technical papers for publishing to technical journals. Performs other duties as required. May create or work with a team to create a poster or other presentation material for a conference.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related discipline.
• 0 years of experience (equivalent experience considered).
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency contingent on specific duties.

• Basic knowledge of computer‑assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
• Basic knowledge of engineering principles of design.
• Knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
