CADD OPERATOR

This is a technical position performing skilled drafting work in preparation of planning/construction and right-of-way plans and maps; inspection of a variety of public works and private construction; inspection of utility installations; enforcement of various City, County and State Codes. Assignments are received as oral and written instructions, sketches, point files, or field notes, and are performed with a moderate degree of independence under general supervision.

Work performed is not subject to continuous review but is spot checked; or checked through review of field notes, oral and written reports and completed work. The incumbent in this position reports directly to a section supervisor or designee.

• Draft construction plans using AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit for architects, engineers, and construction professionals of a variety of facilities, including public safety buildings, recreation centers, parks, and similar structures, as well as building additions, exterior and interior alterations, repairs to existing structures, and infrastructure improvements including stormwater, highways, and bridges.
• Use GIS Arc View software to organize and present information about the status of various City of Miami capital projects.
• Teach and assist architects and engineers in the use of AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit.
• Develop 3D renderings for roadway and architectural projects using Autodesk Revit.
• Develop and implement Office of Capital Improvements CAD standards under the direction of City architects.
• Use Microsoft Office to create tabulations and spreadsheets as requested by the City Architect.
• Create moderately complex PowerPoint documents.
• Perform any additional related duties.

A minimum of 60 college credits and three (3) years experience in AutoCAD drafting.

An equivalent combination of education and experience beyond a high school diploma or its equivalent and two (2) years of the required experience.
