Job Description

Assistant Project & Cost Manager (A P&CM) supporting the Project Manager in planning, directing, and coordinating activities of designated process(es) or a project. Works across estimating, scheduling, and budgeting to ensure objectives are achieved within time and funding constraints.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform quantity surveying, using plans or parametric approaches.
  • Develop and maintain schedules and budgets for engineering projects.
  • Provide status reports on milestones and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Coordinate preparation and delivery of design documents and bid packages.
  • Review product design for compliance with customer contract requirements and specifications.
  • Monitor technical, scheduling, and budgeting developments.
  • Analyze production specifications and capacity data to determine processes and resource requirements.
  • Draw up master schedules to establish sequence and lead time of operations.
  • Expedite delayed operations and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Collaborate with project lead to determine status and provide progress updates.
  • Assume full responsibility for a process or project technical solution as needed.
  • Support advisory solutions—due diligence, feasibility studies, and risk assessment—for less complex or supervised complex projects.
  • Review proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations, and staffing resources.
  • Establish work plans and staffing for project phases; coordinate project personnel to ensure schedule and budget compliance.
  • Prepare status reports for Project Manager review, highlighting progress, schedule, and risk items.
  • Coordinate with government agencies as required.
  • Support business development by acting as company ambassador and participating in proposal preparation.
  • Maintain occupational health standards including monitoring tasks requiring manual handling up to 25lb and sustained visual focus.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing a process on a large project or managing a small project is a plus.
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications and perform quality surveying (plans or parametric).
  • Strong problem‑solving and team‑working skills, with ability to manage time, plan, and prioritize assignments.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Compensation

Salary: $80,000 - $125,000 annually, commensurate with education, qualifications, and experience, plus performance bonus and profit‑sharing bonus.
