Transportation Project Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transportation Project Manager to support a major transportation client in South Florida. This role involves overseeing the planning, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with client standards, regulatory requirements, and project goals.

• Develop the project scope and fee quotation and assist in the preparation of technical proposals and contracts in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA).
• Lead or actively participate in client contract scoping and negotiations.
• Serve as the primary client liaison and manage the project team to deliver scope, schedule, and budgets to completion and to the client’s satisfaction.
• Perform technical discipline tasks including analysis, reports, design, specification, and production for assigned projects.
• Implement the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project.
• Lead the development and execution of the project management plan.
• Supervise and mentor the team to overall project objectives.
• Responsible for overseeing project staffing, including recruitment, development, retention, succession planning, performance and compensation reviews.
• Partner with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to assist with business development, build client relationships, and pursue mini‑mega and mega projects.
• Work with the project team and marketing resources to prepare proposal and presentation materials.
• Lead proposal development and interview presentations for strategic, mini‑mega, and mega projects, as well as general industry and community presentations.
• Recruit, hire, develop, and retain staff, including developing plans for staff reporting, performance reviews, and succession.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 10 years of relevant experience.
• At least 2 years of successful management of engineering projects.

• Successfully delivered multi-disciplined projects on time, on budget, and with high client satisfaction.
• Identified and managed risk and change with guidance from senior staff.
• Leaded teams on mid‑sized or moderately complex projects using sub‑consultants.
• Used system tools to manage, monitor, and deliver projects.
• Implemented HNTB’s Sophisticated processes with minimal assistance from the Office Management Team.
• Acted as the lead interface with the client on moderately complex projects.
• Developed successors for ongoing client relationships.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
