Traffic Design Engineer (S&PM and Signals)
HDR is hiring a Traffic Design Engineer (S&PM and Signals) to work in our South Florida Transportation Business Group in Miami. Primary responsibilities include reviewing signing, pavement marking and signalization plans for FDOT transportation projects, performing QC reviews for roadway projects developed by FDOT D6 internal designers, and performing complex traffic engineering projects. The role also involves exercising sound engineering judgment, preparation of signal plans, and PS and E documents.
The candidate may also function as a technical specialist or project manager on mid-size projects and may supervise small staff of professionals and technicians as needed.
Preferred qualifications include a minimum of 5 years' post-registration experience, FDOT D6 and Miami-Dade County design experience. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree, previous experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design, a professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered, hands-on experience with Highways and Roads CAD engineering software, MS Office knowledge, excellent communication and organizational skills, and experience in urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans.
