This position will contribute to the agency by coordinating and developing construction cost estimates to balance the 5-year Work Program.

Annual Salary Range$53,401.78 - $69,108.18
A Competitive Area Differential (CAD) additive in the amount of $1,976 will be added to the annual salary.
Your Specific Responsibilities- Establish or update construction cost estimates on simple and/or routine projects in the Department's Work Program utilizing the Long Range Estimating (LRE) System or Design Quantities & Estimates System.
- Obtain the latest scope of work for the project and determine unit prices based on the latest cost data and trends available.
- Provide updated construction cost estimates on all projects in the 5-year Work Program for the annual review.
- Prepare authorization and official cost estimates on simple and/or routine projects utilizing the Design Quantities & Estimates (DQE) System to establish pay item unit prices.
- Perform a technical evaluation of construction plans, assessment of historical bid prices, knowledge of geographic pricing fluctuations, understanding of bidding competition, and related impacts to construction cost.
- Utilize DQE to determine reasonable unit prices for proposal pay items. Post authorization estimate to Central Office's server and timely transfer control of proposals and projects to Central Office (CO) for class 1 construction contracts.
- Prepare post-bid evaluations on simple and/or routine projects for District projects identified on the contract bid review list and assist with determining root causes of major differences between bids and estimates.
- Provide cost estimating support for various offices in the District and perform cost comparisons for alternate methods of construction.
