Bridge Cad/Bim Designer

HDR is currently seeking a Bridge CAD/BIM Designer to join our team in Doral and Fort Lauderdale offices in Florida. Primary responsibilities include preparing detailed drawings, layouts and sketches for conventional concrete and steel bridges, retaining walls and miscellaneous structures using computer-aided design software. Develop details for complex concrete and steel bridges which may include: prestressed concrete, post tensioned concrete, steel plate girder, truss systems, segmental and cable-stayed.

Typical projects will be for highway, transit, and railway projects. Work independently with direction from supervisor and engineers.

Preferred qualifications include an associate's degree in engineering technology, experience in bridge structures drafting or related projects, experience working with BIM and 3D CAD software platforms, experience interpreting as-built plans for existing structures, ability to use Excel to calculate quantities for cost estimating purposes, and ability and willingness to work cooperatively with project team members. Preference given to local candidates.

Required qualifications include technical qualification with 3D design software and document management infrastructure, competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits. Basic understanding of engineering or architectural concepts is essential.
