Approximately 10 years of relevant experience is preferred; however, we are open to considering candidates with fewer years of experience who demonstrate strong technical geotechnical expertise and relevant infrastructure project experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and review geotechnical analyses and develop engineering recommendations for foundations, slope stability, retaining walls, earthwork, excavations, and other geotechnical components of infrastructure projects.
  • Plan, coordinate, and support geotechnical site investigations, including field exploration, subsurface investigations, and laboratory testing programs.
  • Conduct site reconnaissance, field visits, and construction support activities as required.
  • Prepare and review geotechnical reports, engineering calculations, technical memoranda, specifications, and recommendations.
  • Perform geotechnical calculations and modeling using appropriate engineering software and analytical tools.
  • Review engineering plans, drawings, specifications, and other project documentation from a geotechnical perspective.
  • Coordinate with structural, civil, hydraulic, transportation, and other engineering disciplines to integrate geotechnical requirements into overall project designs.
  • Provide technical support during design and construction, including evaluation of field conditions and resolution of geotechnical issues.
  • Support Project Managers with technical coordination, client communication, project documentation, and successful project delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and other team members, as needed.
  • Utilize and/or review engineering drawings developed using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Micro Station, Open Road, or similar design platforms.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • Strong professional experience in geotechnical engineering, preferably involving transportation and civil infrastructure projects.
  • Experience performing and reviewing geotechnical calculations, analyses, reports, and engineering recommendations.
  • Knowledge of commonly used geotechnical analysis and modeling software.
  • Experience supporting geotechnical investigations, design activities, and construction-phase engineering.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Ability to manage assignments independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Approximately 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience; candidates with fewer years may be considered based on the strength and relevance of their experience.
  • Master's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering with a geotechnical concentration.
  • Experience with transportation, roadway, tunnel, or major civil infrastructure projects.
  • Previous experience supporting FDOT, TnDOT, or other state Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Engineer (PE) license or progress toward professional licensure.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Micro Station, Open Road, or similar engineering/design platforms.
