Reporting to:
Manager, Entertainment Technical & Broadcast Supervision of:
Provides guidance and support to onboard technical teams
Collaborates with entertainment technicians and production staff across vessels
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement lighting and video elements for onboard production shows
Program and maintain ambient lighting across public spaces to enhance guest experience
Travel across the fleet to provide technical support, installation, and troubleshooting
Collaborate with creative teams to ensure technical execution aligns with artistic vision
Reduce reliance on freelance designers by delivering in-house lighting design solutions
Support new builds, dry docks, and technical upgrades as needed
Train and mentor onboard technical staff in lighting and video systems
Ensure all systems meet operational standards and are functioning optimally
Assist with planning and executing new productions and technical initiatives
Safety DutiesParticipates in crew and guest safety drills according to instructions
Always complies with the Company’s safety and pollution prevention regulations and operating procedures.
Participates in all mandatory training
Leads by example by taking care of Health and Safety of self and others
Ensures that all work equipment, personal protective equipment, chemicals and safety devices are being used correctly. Delivering training, guidance and supervision on how to use and maintain them
QualificationsProven experience in entertainment technical production, with a focus on lighting and video design
Strong background in live performance environments (theater, cruise, touring, etc.) Experience with lighting programming, control systems, and video integration Ability to travel extensively and work onboard vessels
Experience working with cross-functional creative and technical teams
Knowledge and SkillsAdvanced knowledge of lighting design, programming, and control systems
Understanding of video content integration and display technologies
Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills
Creative ability to design visually impactful environments
Project management and organizational skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to adapt quickly to changing operational and production needs
Language requirementsExcellent fluent English (verbal and written) is mandatory. English is the working and safety language on board Silversea vessels. This also includes the ability to give and receive instructions in verbal and written forms and to effectively and efficiently engage with guests and crew members. Any other language is a plus.
Computer knowledge1. Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications is required
2. Previous experience with Fidelio is desirable
3. Efficient at all computer based tasks
