The Entertainment Director will serve as the department head for the entertainment.

The Entertainment Director will be responsible for the overall operational efficiency of the department. He/She will focus on quality control of personnel, technical issues, and the guest experience through tracking and reporting. The Entertainment Director will oversee entertainment scheduling onboard with shore‑side direction, use strategic scheduling to generate revenue, ensure the department abides by safety regulations, prepare for internal and external audits, and manage media elements onboard such as Fun Times, Fun Hub and digital signage.

  • Quality Control: implement quality standards and manage performers.
  • Coaching and Discipline: coach and guide the department, conduct evaluations, and issue performance records.
  • Monitoring: continually monitor activities, events, and sets; offer guidance and training as needed.
  • Entertainment Operations Meeting: lead weekly meetings with key staff to discuss production, maintenance, scheduling, revenue, and group requirements.
  • Shore‑side Communication: create voyage reports communicating subjective and objective data to shore‑side management.
  • Entertainment Scheduling: create, monitor, and modify the ship’s entertainment schedule to maximize revenue and guest experience; comply with MLC 2006 requirements and conduct daily meetings.
  • Revenue: tailor the entertainment program to drive ship revenue and target guest flow into revenue areas.
  • Business Partners: liaise with shipboard management and partners to develop strategies that increase ship revenue performance.
Requirements
  • 5+ years in the hospitality industry (entertainment experience preferred)
  • 3+ years of personnel management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
  • Experience in a similar role or as an Assistant Cruise Director
