Loan Administration Specialist

Banesco USA is seeking a Loan Administration Specialist for our Loan Operations unit.

Primary

Job Duties
  • Review and evaluate new and existing loan originations to determine their eligibility for FHLB and FRB pledging based on specific guidelines.
  • Conduct in-depth file audits to verify that all required loan documentation, such as promissory notes, security instruments, title policies, and legal descriptions, are accurate and complete for FHLB and FRB collateral submission.
  • Monitor pledged loan collateral to ensure it remains compliant with FHLB, FRB, and other regulatory collateral guidelines.
  • Prepare and review for accuracy and timely submission of the Qualified Collateral Reports (QCRs), FRB (and other required reports), and other required electronic and physical submission files in accordance with FHLB and FRB schedules and requirements.
  • Coordinate with lending, loan operations, and compliance teams to correct documentation deficiencies or update loan files necessary for FHLB and FRB eligibility.
  • Monitor and review the tickler system with the required financial documentation, loan covenants, and documentation exceptions.
  • Back up and assist with guidance to other Loan Administration Specialists for the setup and organization of more complex loan files.
  • Cross train and assist with the reconciliation and review of loan-related schedules of the Call Report to ensure accurate reporting and other tasks of the Loan Administration Dept.
  • Review FFIEC/FRB publications to ensure all applicable changes are reflected in external reports.
  • Review credit approvals, modifications, and annual reviews to identify and correct miscoded information to ensure all classification codes used for internal and external reporting are accurate.
  • Validate information captured by the system and prepare a detailed report of all applicable post-closing adjustments, corrections, and re-classifications of the loans.
  • Responsible for completing annual training program assigned.
  • Performs other functions and/or duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Education:

    Associate’s degree in business administration preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Experience:

    Five (5) years of experience in the Banking industry, specifically in the Loan Operations or Credit Administration area. Prior experience submitting QCRs or managing a loan collateral pledge program (FHLB or FRB) is preferred.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.). Knowledge in banking systems including but not limited to Jack Henry (JHA Silverlake) and NCINO.
  • Language:
    Bilingual in both English and Spanish preferred, with the ability to fluently speak, understand, read, and write both languages.
  • Core Competencies:

    Strong attention to detail and accuracy, strong organization, time-management, and prioritizing skills. Strong knowledge in loan documentation and financial documentation.
  • Advanced computer skills including but not limited to proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to multi-task, with strong organization, time-management and prioritizing skills.
  • Customer service skills, ensuring satisfaction of both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, in order to ensuring compliance with department procedures.
  • Knowledge of related State and Federal banking compliance regulations and operational policies.
  • Ability to understand and comprehend instructions, procedures and policies ensuring compliance with the Bank's policies and procedures.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills in order to identify problems.
