HC is actively partnered with a global financial institution seeking a Senior Credit Analyst with extensive ABL experience to support the growth within that sector.
The candidate will support the SVP Credit Risk Manager in underwriting and managing complex, multimillion-dollar syndicated and bilateral credit facilities for large domestic and international corporate borrowers across multiple industries. Responsibilities include both cash-flow and asset-based lending (ABL) structures, such as revolving working capital facilities, trade finance, term loans, acquisition financing, and project finance. Serves as a key backup to the SVP Credit Risk Manager and provides oversight and guidance to credit staff.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the structuring, underwriting, and approval of complex corporate credit transactions, including ABL facilities secured by receivables, inventory, equipment, and other assets.
- Provide leadership and guidance to domestic and international credit teams, including mentoring junior analysts.
- Evaluate borrower financial condition, business operations, management, industry dynamics, and ownership structures.
- Analyze historical and projected financial statements to assess repayment capacity under both cash-flow and collateral-based structures.
- Assess loan structures, identify key risks, strengths, weaknesses, and recommend appropriate credit mitigants.
- Underwrite and monitor ABL borrowing bases, advance rates, collateral quality, concentration risks, and availability trends.
- Review and evaluate collateral appraisals, field examinations, inventory valuations, and receivables aging reports.
- Monitor ongoing compliance with covenants, borrowing base requirements, reporting obligations, and credit terms.
- Ensure adherence to internal credit policies and regulatory guidance, including leveraged lending, ABL, and project finance standards.
- Perform market and industry research using tools such as Standard & Poor’s, Bloomberg, and other market data sources.
- Recommend internal credit risk ratings and document policy exceptions with appropriate justification.
- Prepare clear, independent, and comprehensive credit memoranda and present recommendations to senior management and credit committees.
- Conduct periodic portfolio reviews, interim financial analyses, and ongoing risk monitoring.
- Support audits, loan reviews, and regulatory examinations.
- Maintain complete and accurate credit documentation and collateral records.
- Serve as backup to the SVP Credit Risk Manager and provide coverage across the credit organization as needed.
- Strong expertise in credit risk management, asset-based lending, and collateral-driven structures
- Advanced financial analysis and modeling capabilities
- Solid working knowledge of S&P and Moody’s analytical frameworks
- Strong understanding of U.S. regulatory requirements and credit policy standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Proven ability to present complex credit analyses to senior stakeholders
