We are seeking a Credit Analyst to support the underwriting of commercial real estate credit transactions. This role is responsible for preparing detailed credit analyses, assessing risk, and supporting credit approval, renewal, and portfolio management processes in accordance with internal credit policy.
The ideal candidate brings strong financial analysis skills, sound credit judgment, and experience underwriting commercial real estate transactions in a structured banking environment.
Responsibilities- Spread and analyze borrower and property-level financial statements to pre-screen the viability of commercial real estate credit proposals
- Review accounting methods and scrutinize financial statements, rent rolls, operating statements, and supporting documentation
- Prepare comprehensive credit memoranda and presentations, including risk identification and mitigation, sources of repayment, sensitivity and stress testing, industry and market analysis, and transaction or project evaluation
- Analyze borrower sponsorship, property performance, market conditions, and operating cash flows to assess repayment capacity
- Perform CRE credit underwriting and risk assessment in compliance with the bank’s credit policies and regulatory requirements
- Formulate and present credit recommendations for review by Credit Management
- Support annual credit reviews, renewals, modifications, and ongoing portfolio monitoring
- Coordinate with relationship management, appraisal review, and internal risk partners as needed
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business, Real Estate, or a related field
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in commercial real estate credit analysis or underwriting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong understanding of CRE financial analysis, including NOI, DSCR, LTV, and cash flow modeling
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple transactions in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
