We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to oversee our financial operations and contribute to our growth and efficiency in the distribution industry.
Job Summary:As the Controller at, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of our distribution operations. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the accounting and financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning. Your expertise in distribution will be vital as you analyze and optimize financial performance within this specific sector.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee all accounting operations, including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, reporting any variances.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements for distribution operations.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems.
- Work closely with the logistics and supply chain teams to optimize financial aspects of distribution.
- Provide leadership in strategic financial planning for distribution operations.
- Perform variance analyses and prepare financial reports for senior management.
- Proven experience as a Controller or similar role, with specific experience in the distribution or logistics industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and legislation.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
