OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Analyst to join our banking team in Coral Gables, Florida. This role is responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of commercial and consumer borrowers, supporting lending decisions, and ensuring compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within a bank, credit union, or financial institution, and possess strong financial analysis skills, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, and other financial data to assess borrower risk
- Prepare comprehensive credit memoranda and risk assessments for commercial and consumer loan requests
- Evaluate cash flow, collateral, leverage, liquidity, and repayment capacity
- Support commercial lenders with underwriting, structuring, and portfolio management
- Monitor existing loan portfolios and identify early warning signs of credit deterioration
- Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory standards, and banking guidelines
- Communicate directly with relationship managers, borrowers, and internal stakeholders
- Assist in annual reviews, renewals, and credit risk rating updates
- Participate in credit committee preparation and documentation
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field
- 2+ years of credit analysis experience within a bank, credit union, or financial institution
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (written and verbal) — required
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and credit risk assessment
- Experience analyzing commercial and/or consumer loans
- Proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with commercial lending (C&I, CRE, or SBA loans)
- Familiarity with U.S. banking regulations and credit compliance standards
- Experience preparing credit memos for credit committee review
- Knowledge of Moody’s, Baker Hill, Abrigo, or similar credit systems
- Experience working with international or Latin American clients
- Financial analysis and risk assessment
