We are seeking an experienced Fund Accounting Manager with specialized expertise in credit funds to oversee the financial operations and reporting for our investment portfolios. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fund accounting, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of credit fund structures and strategies. This role will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective management of the fund accounting team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee Fund Accounting Operations
    :
    Manage all aspects of fund accounting for credit funds, including net asset value (NAV) calculations, financial statement preparation, and investor reporting.
  • Financial Reporting
    :
    Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, or other relevant standards.
  • Valuation and Pricing
    :
    Oversee the valuation of credit fund investments, including loans, bonds, and other fixed‑income instruments, ensuring compliance with fair value accounting principles.
  • Investor and Stakeholder Communication
    :
    Prepare and review investor reports, capital account statements, and performance metrics, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Oversight
    :
    Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including SEC, IRS, and other relevant guidelines, and coordinate with auditors during annual audits.
  • Team Leadership
    :
    Manage and mentor a team of fund accountants, providing guidance on complex accounting issues and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Process Improvement
    :
    Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, implement best practices, and leverage technology to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Liaison with Service Providers
    :
    Collaborate with third‑party administrators, custodians, and auditors to ensure seamless operations and accurate reporting.
  • Risk Management
    :
    Monitor and mitigate financial and operational risks related to fund accounting activities.
  • Performance Analysis
    :
    Support portfolio managers by providing detailed financial analysis and performance metrics for credit fund investments.
Qualifications
  • Education
    :
    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CFA, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience
    :
    Minimum of 5‑7 years of fund accounting experience, with at least 3 years focused on credit funds (e.g., private credit, leveraged loans, high‑yield bonds, or distressed debt).
  • Technical Skills
    :
    Proficiency in fund accounting software (e.g., Advent Geneva, Investran, or similar), advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with Bloomberg or other financial data platforms.
  • Regulatory Knowledge
    :
    Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory requirements specific to credit funds.
  • Leadership
    :
    Proven experience managing and developing a team of accounting professionals.
  • Analytical Skills
    :
    Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Communication
    :
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, investors, and external stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail
    :
    Strong organizational skills and a meticulous approach to financial reporting and compliance.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with private credit or direct lending funds.
  • Familiarity with tax implications and structuring for credit fund investments.
  • Knowledge of portfolio management and risk assessment for credit strategies.
