Overview of the Role

The Senior Accountant plays a critical execution and continuity role within the family office’s finance function. This position is responsible for the accurate day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities and preparing reliable financial records and reports. As the organization continues to grow, the role is intentionally structured to focus on high‑quality execution, accuracy, and operational discipline, while benefiting from senior financial leadership oversight and review.

This position requires strong accounting fundamentals, attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, high‑trust environment.

Core Responsibilities:

Accounting Execution & Close
  • Execute the day‑to‑day accounting activities for the family office and affiliated entities
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger across operating, investment, real estate, and SPV entities
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual close schedules and supporting documentation
  • Perform bank, investment, and credit card reconciliations
  • Identify discrepancies and proactively resolve issues prior to review
  • Bloomberg terminal literate and experienced
Transaction Processing
  • Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and expense reimbursements
  • Ensure all transactions are properly coded, documented, and supported
  • Monitor bank and credit card activity and flag unusual or high‑risk transactions
  • Maintain orderly electronic filing and document management systems
Financial Reporting Support
  • Prepare draft financial statements and schedules for review
  • Assist with cash tracking and liquidity reporting
Tax & Compliance Support
  • Collect and organize tax‑related documentation across all entities
  • Support quarterly estimates, year‑end tax preparation, and audit requests
  • Ensure records are maintained in compliance with internal policies and best practices
  • Tax Law Application:
    Apply knowledge of federal and state tax regulations to ensure transactions are recorded for maximum tax efficiency.
  • Entity Structuring:
    Review Operating Agreements, Trust Documents, and Partnership Agreements to ensure capital accounts, profit/loss allocations, and distributions strictly follow legal mandates.
Process & Controls
  • Follow established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Support continuous improvement of accounting workflows and documentation
  • Partner with the Head of Finance to implement system or process enhancements
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 6+ years of accounting experience
  • CPA preferred or actively working toward CPA
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficiency with Quick Books (or similar accounting systems) and Excel
  • Experience supporting multi‑entity accounting environments preferred
  • High level of integrity and discretion with confidential financial information
  • Bloomberg Proficiency:
    Experience using Bloomberg Terminal for investment research, pricing, and portfolio exports is essential.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst Certified
