Construction Controller

About Us

We are a growing commercial construction firm delivering high-quality projects along the East Coast. As we scale, we’re looking for a seasoned Controller to lead our financial operations, strengthen internal controls, and support strategic decision-making. This role reports directly to the CFO and is fully on‑site Monday–Friday in our Miami Office

• Oversee all accounting operations including AP/AR, payroll, general ledger, and month‑end close
• Manage job costing, WIP schedules, and project profitability analysis
• Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and construction‑specific accounting standards
• Implement and monitor internal controls, policies, and procedures
• Prepare timely financial statements and executive‑level reports
• Manage cash flow and banking relationships
• Partner with project managers on cost tracking, variance analysis, and financial insights
• Lead annual audits and coordinate with external CPA firms
• Oversee accounting systems including Sage 300, Procore, and Miter

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5–10+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in construction
• Strong command of job costing, WIP reporting, and percentage‑of‑completion accounting
• Proficiency with construction accounting software
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills
• Detail‑oriented, proactive, and collaborative by nature
